## Remarks

For ordinary properties the object must be checked out to the caller; on a checked-in version the
call fails with "The object is not checked out." Properties that belong to a single
version, such as Comment (33), can also be set on a checked-in version, including an older one;
this needs more than edit access: a normal user got "You do not have sufficient access rights to
change the property "Comment" in checked-in versions." where a vault administrator succeeded, and no
new version was created. Use
[SetProperties](https://developer.m-files.com/APIs/gRPC-API/Reference/MFiles.IRPCObjectOperations/SetProperties/index.md) for ordinary changes.
