| <a id="f-user_id"></a>`user_id` | `int32` | 1 | The user's ID in this vault: the ID to use for the current user in properties, permissions and searches. |
| <a id="f-is_internal_user"></a>`is_internal_user` | `bool` | 2 | Is the user an internal user? |
| <a id="f-substitute_users"></a>`substitute_users` | repeated [`UserOrUserGroupID`](https://developer.m-files.com/APIs/gRPC-API/Reference/Messages/MFiles.UserOrUserGroupID/index.md) | 3 | `user_id` first, followed by the users for whom this user is a substitute. |

| <a id="f-is_valid_external_user"></a>`is_valid_external_user` | `bool` | 11 | True if the logged-in user has a valid (well-formed GUID) external identity, e.g. from Microsoft Entra. The external ID itself is not sent to the client. |
