IRPCObjectOperations.UndoCheckout
Vault API / core write session or assertion returns metadata structure version
Undoes the checkout of one object.
| Service | Objects, versions, properties and files MFiles.IRPCObjectOperations |
|---|---|
| gRPC method | /MFiles.IRPCObjectOperations/UndoCheckout |
| HTTP (mf-http-grpc) | POST /grpc/v1/undo-checkout |
| Request | UndoCheckoutRequest |
| Response | UndoCheckoutResponse |
| Book and level | Vault API, core |
| Kind | write |
| Session | Required: a session (mfiles-session-id-bin metadata) or a session assertion (x-mf-session-assertion metadata). |
| Idempotent | no |
| Returns metadata structure version | yes (in the mfiles-metadata-version-bin trailer) |
| Streaming | none (unary) |
Remarks
Discards the checked-out version and all changes made to it; the latest checked-in version becomes the latest version again. For a new object that has never been checked in, undoing the check-out discards the whole object.
obj_ver must name the checked-out version by number; the LATEST marker fails with "Not found.
Invalid object version: -1". Undoing a check-out of an object that is not checked out
fails with "The object is not checked out."
Without force, only the user who checked the object out can undo the check-out, from the same
computer. With force, the user can undo their own check-out from any computer, and a user with
the vault-level right to force undo check-out (force_undo_checkout) can undo anyone's check-out.
